Sunday Ramblings

It's Sunday and I think I need more day, but the weekend will be over soon. I don't have complete, coherent thoughts. So here's a few ramblings.

People make good managers. People make bad managers. That's it. I agree with Mama Bee, let's not make it about gender: Why We Should Stop Asking If Women Make Better Managers. For the most part, my managers have been women. I usually work with mostly women. My current job has been the exception, though there are women co-workers. I have seen the best and the worst of both genders. I prefer to work with people who treat others like they would treat themselves. I prefer to work for a manager who gives me a long leash, encourages me when I need it and gives me big picture direction. So far, I have received that from both a male and a female manager.

Thank God for swimming pools and air conditioning. I'm a weinie when it comes to heat. But I prefer to drive with the windows down.

********************

There is nothing more precious than a full smile from the ones I love.

********************

When faced with a crossroads, it's hard to know which road to take. What do I want, what will be best, what does "best" look like anyway?

********************

For some reason I don't like listening to voicemails. My apologies to friends and family.

I am not a fan of voicemails either.

And I've never had a woman as a manager, but I'm an engineer and so there are few women in my field. All the same, I don't see why there would be any particular difference. I agree - some people are good, some people are not so good, regardless of gender.

Purchase a pool this summer and its been the greatest gift for the whole family ever! That is when we can swim....been somewhat of a cool summer here in Northern Michigan. Good day today 84 and we took full advantage of it for 3 hours.

I am the only one in my family who rather roll all four windows down than use the air. Maybe it is I'm the only one who has no hair to mess up.

I hate checking voicemail. Texting is so much easier
